HARRISONBURG, Va. –  A judge in Scotland has denied the appeal of three people who are fighting extradition back to the valley after they were accused in a plot to kidnap five children and kill their parents in Rockingham County.

In August of 2018, 41-year-old Valerie Perfect Hayes, 58-year-old Gary Blake Reburn, and 36-year-old Jennifer Lynn Amnott, fled to the United Kingdom after the attempted kidnapping of five children in a Mennonite Community in Dayton.

U-S Attorney Christopher Kavanaugh says for over three years they have been working to get these fugitives back to the area to face trial.

Jennifer Amnott’s husband, Frank Amnott of Pensacola, Florida, has already pleaded guilty for his role in the plot and was sentenced to life in prison back in December of 2019.
