HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne has announced future football games in the 2029 and 2030 seasons, highlighted by a trip to Orlando to face soon to be Big 12 Conference foe UCF.

JMU will take on UCF at FBC Mortgage Stadium on Sept. 8, 2029, marking the program’s second meeting ever against the Big 12 and first since a trip to West Virginia in 2019. It will also be JMU’s third all-time meeting with the Golden Knights, with the series tied at 1-1. JMU won 49-31 in Harrisonburg in 1991, while UCF claimed a 41-37 home victory in 1992.

The Dukes have also signed a home-and-home contract with Akron out of the Mid-American Conference. JMU will travel to Akron, Ohio on Sept. 15, 2029, and host the Zips at Bridgeforth Stadium on Sept. 14, 2030. The teams have met once previously, with Akron taking a narrow 35-33 home win in 2013.

Also in 2030, JMU will host FCS foe Norfolk State from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. That game is scheduled for Sept. 21, 2030, in what will mark the fourth meeting between the teams. JMU is 3-0 against the Spartans, with two wins at home and one triumph in Norfolk.

Additionally, JMU announced an amendment to its home-and-home with Liberty in 2033 and 2034, swapping home and away dates. The Dukes will now host on Sept. 17, 2033, and travel to Lynchburg on Sept. 16, 2034.
