HARRISONBURG, Va. –  Gas prices in the valley are going in the opposite direction of those in the rest of the state and the rest of the country.

Average gasoline prices in Virginia have risen two-cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.95/g today according to GasBuddy.  At the same time, prices here in the valley have dipped several cents with many retailers at $3.89/g.

The national average price of gasoline has risen four-cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.11/g today.  It’s the first time in over a month the national average price of gasoline has risen. Primarily according to GasBuddy, the increase was due to oil prices that had jumped the prior week.
