WEYERS CAVE, Va – (WSVA) – The Augusta County man who is set to be on trial next week for allegedly killing his brother was scheduled to be in court Monday in connection with a murder for hire plot.

However, that hearing for Richard Brunk was continued until December 20th, according to online records.

The 63-year-old Weyers Cave man faces two counts of kill for hire after he was indicted by Rockingham County Circuit Court grand jury last month.

Published reports indicate that one of the targets was Commonwealth’s Attorney Marsha Garst.

Meanwhile, Brunk is set to go to trial next Tuesday to face a first-degree murder charge for the shooting death of his brother, Ronnie, in June of last year.
