HARRISONBURG, Va. — A Harrisonburg man was arrested Friday on a first-degree murder charge following a months-long investigation into a suspicious death last summer.

In a Friday release, Harrisonburg Police Captain Jason Kidd said officers responded to the 400 block of Eastover Drive around 7:15 on August 18 of last year.

A body located at a nearby construction site was determined to be the remains of Towan Julian Cappell.

Following an extensive investigation, Kidd said detectives arrested 25-year-old Aaron Christopher Gordon Jr., of Harrisonburg, on one charge of first-degree murder.

He is held without bond at Harrisonburg-Rockingham Regional Jail.

Anyone with additional information about the case is asked to contact Det. Bradley Matthias with Harrisonburg Police, or CrimeStoppers.
