BROADWAY, Va. —  Rockingham County fire officials are investigating what may have sparked a blaze early Wednesday morning that destroyed a town home in the Broadway area.

Chief Jeremy Holloway reports that the call came at around 1:30 in the 100 block of Hill Street and when firefighters arrived, they found flames showing from the roof of the town house.

Holloway says a leak in the gas line near the meter contributed to the fire.

Holloway said that no one was injured, but the structure was deemed a total loss.
