Virginia State Police were kept quite busy Thursday afternoon as they tended to a dozen crashes near the interchange of Interstates 81 and 66 in Augusta County.
Spokesperson Corinne Geller reports the first of the accidents happened shortly before 12:30 on I-81 at around mile marker 228 north of the Verona exit.
The largest accident happened at around 5:45 and involved seven vehicles on I-64 in the Fishersville area.
Fortunately, there were no life-threatening injuries reported from any of the crashes.
However, traffic was snarled for most of the day in those areas, which caused a lot of headaches for travelers.
