A brief scare at Thomas Harrison Middle School yesterday forced the school under a partial lockdown.

According to reports, the school went into Code Orange protocol just before 11:30 Wednesday morning after a student reported hearing that a weapon was on campus.

According to Harrisonburg City Public Schools, Code Orange means all doors are locked while instruction continues.

The lockdown was lifted and the school returned to Code Green status at 12:15 following a police investigation.

No weapon was found.
