BRIDGEWATER, Va. (BC Athletics) – The Bridgewater College women’s volleyball team cruised past Hollins in straight sets on senior night on home court to earn their 10th-straight win in conference play.

Score: Bridgewater (BC) 3, Hollins (HU) 0
Records: BC (21-2, 10-0), HU (6-16, 2-10)

How It Happened
• The Eagles turned on the burners right out of the gate with a commanding seven-point scoring run. Shortly after, BC increased their lead with a monstrous four-point run as Sarah Furst knocked down with a kill followed by three consecutive service aces from Jillian Levin. BC continued to apply pressure and easily maintained a healthy advantage as Molly Gardner closed out the opening set with a definitive ace.
• In the second set, Hollins battled with a full BC Eagles squad. However, BC stayed strong and remained in front. After the technical timeout at 15-14 BC, Hollins took the lead at 18-17. That did not last long though as Furst and Levin pieced together a three-point run for a 23-19 edge. Reagan Stoop belted a missile and helped the Eagles slip past HU for a 25-20 second set score.
• BC did not shy away from strong offensive pressure. The Eagles plunged ahead with the help of a six-point surge to take an early 9-4 advantage. Hollins came back to tie it at nine apiece, but from there, the Eagles kicked the action into higher gear. Maecy Ann Frizzelle and Agnes Alford paired up to smack back-to-back strikes to hold a 17-12 lead. Soon after, Agnes Alford strung together efficient offensive connections to stay ahead of the opposition and in the end, Alford put an exclamation point on senior night with a kill for a 25-23 final set score.

Match Notes
• Bridgewater led in all offensive categories with 62 points, 45 kills, 13 service aces and 41 assists.
• Jillian Levin and Reagan Stoop shared nine kills each to lead the match.
• Maya Veselinovic and Nora Van Horn combined for 26 assists.
