CLEVELAND (JMU Athletics) – After another standout weekend, Madelief Molier of James Madison field hockey was named Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

Molier found the back of the net three times in a 5-0 win over Ball State on Friday for the second hat trick of her sophomore campaign. The forward is the first Duke since Miranda Rigg to register multiple hat tricks in a single season, with Rigg producing three such games in 2016. Molier is the first JMU player to earn multiple conference weekly laurels since Eveline Zwager was tabbed as CAA Player of the Week three times during the 2021 season.

The sophomore is tied for second in the conference in total goals (11), while nationally she is tied for 16th in goals per game (0.92) and 25th in points per game (1.92).

The MAC weekly award is Molier’s second this season, having been honored as the league’s Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 23), as well as NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 24), following a three-goal performance in a heroic 3-1 win at No. 8 Michigan on Sept. 21.

The Dukes will continue their four-game homestand when it welcomes No. 18 Miami (Ohio) to Harrisonburg for a rematch of the 2024 Mid-American Conference title game on Friday, Oct. 10. The opening pass is set for 2 p.m.
