STERLING VA: (Rocktown Now) – A freeze warning has been issued for parts of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, with forecasters urging residents to prepare for a sharp overnight temperature drop early Sunday.

The National Weather Service says temperatures could fall to around 30 degrees between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. EDT Sunday, creating conditions cold enough to damage plants and exposed outdoor plumbing.

The alert covers Central and Eastern Allegany County in Maryland; Central and Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, along with Shenandoah, Augusta, and Rockingham counties in Virginia; and Eastern Grant, Eastern Mineral, Hampshire, and Hardy counties in West Virginia.

Officials warn that frost and freeze conditions may kill crops and sensitive vegetation, and homeowners are encouraged to protect outdoor pipes and bring vulnerable plants indoors.

If you want, I can also turn this into a shorter bulletin-style update or a more polished article.
