JMU Men’s Basketball to host Toledo in second game of MAC-SBC Challenge

NEW ORLEANS (JMU Athletics) – James Madison men’s basketball will face off with Toledo in the second leg of the MAC-SBC Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 7, inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center, the leagues announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Game time inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center is slated for 4 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+. The matchup will be the second in two seasons between the Dukes and Rockets. Last February, Toledo took down JMU 72-69 on Saturday, Feb. 8, in the first meeting between the between the two schools.

Toledo sits at 8-6 this season, including a 2-0 mark in MAC play. The Rockets fell to South Alabama, 76-74, in the season opener on Monday, Nov. 3, and sit at No. 169 in the latest NET rankings.

MAC schools took nine of 13 matchups in first games of the challenge to kick off the 2025-26 season on Nov. 3. The Dukes fell 85-71 to Akron in Akron, Ohio.

About The MAC-SBC Challenge
The MAC-SBC Challenge began during the 2023-24 season at the recommendation of the Sun Belt’s strategic planning committees for men’s and women’s basketball. Scheduling assistance is provided by Ordinal Sports Group. In addition to relevant NET data, geography and frequency of past contests are considered in determining the matchups.
