JMU unveils new residence hall this Friday

HARRISONBURG VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – James Madison University is ready to cut the ribbon on their latest residence hall.

JMU President Jim Schmidt and other school officials will be on hand to unveil the university’s new Potomac Hall at a ceremony Friday, August 29, officially opening the building for student housing this semester.

Work began in May of 2023 to replace the aging Ikenberry Hall that was originally constructed in 1972.

Potomac Hall features nearly 500 beds, increased study spaces for groups and individuals, and ample laundry facilities throughout the building. The event begins at 2 Friday afternoon on Ikenberry Service Drive in Harrisonburg.
