BRIDGEWATER, Va. (BC Athletics) – Bridgewater College Head Softball Coach Megan Pleskovic is stepping down to take the head coaching role at Division I Northern Kentucky.

Pleskovic has spent the last seven seasons at the helm of the Eagles’ program, becoming the second-winningest coach in its storied history. BC made the ODAC Tournament every year it was held during her tenure, including Bridgewater’s first trip to the championship bout since 2012 last month.

“I am so grateful to have been the head coach at Bridgewater for the past seven seasons, and I’ve been able to work with some of the most genuine people that have made this place feel like home,” said Pleskovic. “I want to thank the administration for taking a chance on me and creating an atmosphere where I could learn and grow as a coach. It has been an absolute honor to coach the student-athletes here and do it alongside a phenomenal group of assistant coaches.”

The 2026 campaign saw BC finish with a 29-16 record, as the Eagles tallied the longest shutout streak in the NCAA at seven consecutive games. Bridgewater also earned its first All-American since 2010 in Caroline Malandra, while standout hurler Mackenzie Cauthorn rewrote the program’s record book during the season. The senior-led squad was among the ODAC leaders at the plate and in the circle, while they were also the only team to limit pre-NCAA Tournament No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan to under three runs.

During the 2025 ODAC Coach of the Year’s tenure, Bridgewater finished .500 or better in ODAC play and tallied double-digit wins in each season. The Eagles narrowly missed out on the NCAA Tournament in 2025 and 2026, as their 29 wins in each campaign ranked among the program’s top totals in its history.

“We wish Megan the best as she moves into the next chapter of her career,” said Director of Athletics Curt Kendall. “She elevated the program back to the top of the ODAC and to the national stage in her seven years as an Eagle. We thank her for her hard work and dedication during her time at BC.”

Pleskovic will take over an NKU squad coming off a trip to the Knoxville Regional after grabbing the Horizon League Championship in May. The Norse have claimed two Horizon League titles on the diamond in the last four years, their first two titles in program history.

Bridgewater registered 31 All-ODAC selections, seven All-Region honorees and one All-American during Pleskovic’s tenure.

A native of Strongsville, Ohio, she served as an assistant at Adrian College and Hiram College before coming to the Shenandoah Valley.
