Forecasters warn that this storm system has the potential to produce numerous severe thunderstorms and multiple tornadoes as it tracks from the Midwest across much of the eastern United States, stretching from New York down through Florida. This setup is being driven by a powerful clash of warm, moisture-rich air from the Gulf of Mexico and strong upper-level winds—conditions that can support long-lasting storms capable of producing dangerous weather.
While the most intense and widespread storm activity is expected to occur across the central and southern states, the Shenandoah Valley is still at risk for impactful weather as the system moves eastward.
